This is an original document, a contemporaneous accounting made in the 1770s or 1780s between John Coe and William Watts to account for items paid to others on each others' behalves.  I do not trust the "1689" on the reverse.  I believe it may be a reference of "168-9" but you may think otherwise, but know that the John Watts papers were 1770s and 1780s.
This document was among the papers of Capt. John Watts and William Watts of Prince Edward County, Virginia document.
The document has the most unusual watermark - a COAT OF ARMS.  About 75% (the bottom) of which is present the way the paper was cut.  The four quarters of the coat of arms:  UL--Three Fleurons.  UR--Lion and knight chess pieces.  LL--What appears to be a chair or throne.  LR--Harp.
The document was folded and edge wear happened along a folds, giving rise to two missing areas.   The size is about 6" x 8".
