    1960s Repousse Copper PIN designed by Joe Calafato -- repousse design features 3 straight norned animals known as the Oryx or Elands in their Native African Habitat. the work is wonderful & the animals show almost a 3d design & so much passion.
    Pin is signed on back CARINA genuine copper -- the name which dates it to mid / late 1960s & attributes it to Joe Calafato
    Pin measures just short of 1" side to side x 1 1/8" top to bottom. this pin is from 1960s

Africa) Joe Calafato was a South African well known designer who designed & created wonderful pieces of silver Jewelry, gold jewelry,& copper jewelry plus flatware & holloware. He created iconic designs of south africa during the dates 1947 thru 1984 in a career spanning 37 years. His work made an important contribution to the development of a uniquely South African design domain & has become increasingly sought after at antique and collectible markets.  the pins are becoming quite difficult to find.
