    Description

Wampum Quahog Shells Ancient Source- SouthEastern RI 12pcs
These clams were sourced by me personally, locally, from The Great Salt Pond in Wakefield RI.  This is generally considered to be the original source for quahog shell Wampum dating back hundreds of years by local tribes. This remains the same today, with local native artisans producing a range of beautiful jewelry and personal items.
The confluence of the Atlantic Ocean with the Pond itself produces quahog clams with significant wampum shell purple coloring.
These clams are only accessible by boat and were dug by me recently. They are not "beach finds". We  dig, scrub, shuck and clean the shells by hand. No heat or exposure to the sun.
The lots are numbered in the images and can be ordered by number. If you do not select a specific lot #, we will send the next available lot. Each lot contains 12 pcs, (except for lot #5 which has 13 due to the sizes) ranging in size from 2 inches to 3 inches .
Larger shells(3- 3 1/2 inches) available in XL lots  in separate eBay listings. Larger shells are available in XXL lots of 8 shells (3.5-4 inches) are available in a separate listing).  Very limited quantities!
If provenance is important to you, these shells are for you! If not, but you want quality, these are for you!
